PENSACOLA, FLORIDA

Pensacola - home of the US Navy Blue Angels!  Also happens to be my very first duty station when I was in the Navy and a popular vacation destination!  I'll post some of my favorite spots and if you visit any be sure to let me know!

The National Naval Aviation Museum is located on Naval Air Station Pensacola and usually a huge hit with visitors, along with Fort Barrancas.

Downtown Pensacola on the water is very pretty and I love walking around looking at the Pensacola Pelicans in Paradise Statues!  On our most recent trip we ate at Kohn's, a Thai restaurant on Palafox St and it was amazing!  We especially loved the coconut curry soup and some type of espresso pudding.

Also downtown is Seville Quarter - hands down my favorite place there!!!  In the evening enjoy their 7 rooms of fun, each a different theme and one more fun than the next!  We really enjoyed the dueling piano bar last time we were there.

McGuire's Irish Pub is another MUST do while you're in town and you have to hang a dollar while there!  I have two dollars hung in there but didn't take great pics to be able to find the most recent one again...

Pensacola Beach is gorgeous with sugary white sand.  The Pensacola Beach Ball tower is always a fun sight and be sure to catch the beach ball drop during the New Years Eve countdown!

While down at the beach you must stop at The Dock and Sandshaker for a bite to eat and the infamous Bushwhacker!  If you happen to be there in August the Bushwhacker festival is tons of fun!  To me the bushwhacker tastes a bit like an alcoholic Wendy's frosty or mudslide.  It's delicious and nice and cold on a hot beach!

Another really fun place nearby Pensacola is tubing or kayaking on the Blackwater River.  I really enjoyed packing a lunch and bringing my family and friends out on the water for the day.  There is also lots to do in the nearby towns of Destin and Fort Walton Beach.  The beaches all up and down this coast are incredible!

I can't visit Pensacola without taking a trip to a couple other favorite spots, locations below are not in Pensacola but are nearby and definitely worth the trip!

Florabama is a famous beach bar on the Florida Alabama border.  It's a fun place with a rich history and just one of those places you have to stop and see and say "I've been there!"

After Florabama you must head to Gulf Shores and check out the Gulf State Park Pier, the restaurant The Hangout is tons of fun for all ages, also right there on the same street is lots of touristy beach shops that are also a must see.

After Gulf Shores head to Foley, Alabama and eat at Lambert's Cafe - home of the throwed rolls!  This is amazing southern food with HUGE portions.  The staff is so fun and they come out with fresh hot rolls on a cart and throw them at you for you to catch!  You order your main meal and some sides but they come around with all of the sides to share and you get to try a little bit of all of them!  I love this restaurant and I make sure to take the trip to it every time we are in Pensacola.  While in Foley after letting your meal settle it is fun to walk around the Tanger Outlets.
