SOFT PRETZELS USING DINNER ROLLS

 

Dinner roll DOUGH balls
8 cups water
2/3 cup baking soda
egg with 1 tablespoon water
course sea salt

Place parchment paper on a large sheet pan.  Roll each piece of dough out with hands until about 3-5" long and lay out on sheet pan.  Spray each piece of dough with nonstick cooking spray and cover with plastic wrap.  Allow to sit in a warm spot for 1 hour.
Bring water and baking soda to a boil, lower heat and simmer each pretzel for 15 minutes on each side.  Blot on a paper towel and put back on parchment paper.
Whisk egg with water to make egg wash and brush over each pretzel.  Sprinkle with sea salt and score a couple times.
Bake at 375º for 15-17 minutes.

Serve with beer cheese or sweet baby rays secret sauce (my fave!)

Skip sea salt and as soon as the pretzels come out of the oven brush with melted butter and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar.
