KOREAN BBQ MARINADE

 

There are these Korean BBQ pork skewers that I absolutely love.  I check the ingredients on the back and it says the main 2 ingredients are soy sauce and brown sugar.  I googled several Korean BBQ recipes and combined a couple together to come up with this one and we really loved it!

1 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup water
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 onion, chopped
1 teaspoon ground ginger
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon sesame oil
2 tablespoons minced garlic

Bring ingredients to a boil while stirring.  Remove from heat and allow to come to room temp.  Marinate your choice of meat (about 2-3 pounds) all day or overnight.
When it's time to cook the meat, pour the marinade in into a skillet and bring to a boil, lower to simmer and reduce to about half.  Pour sauce over meat before serving.
