VIRGINIA BEACH STAYCATION! (DAY 1)

Grandma and Grandpa took the kids for the entire week!  Grandma and the kids left on Sunday morning after we all had breakfast at Ihop.  TJ and I both really enjoyed our super sweet breakfast, he had peaches and cream french toast while I had the bananas foster - both are equally delicious!
TJ took a couple days off during the week so we could have a "Staycation".  We decided to try new things, go to new places and just drive around discovering new areas of the city we live in.  He had to work on Monday and when he got off we attended Bristol's basic obedience class through Hunt Club Canine Obedience Training Bristol passed and actually did really well during her tests, of course I had to come home and take some graduation pics of her!

Sashimi platter and Virginia Beach Crunch at Soya Sushi Bar & Bistro

When TJ deployed last year I bought a gift certificate off of restaurant.com for Soya Sushi Bar & Bistro so we could use it for a date night when he got back.  Well it's been over a year since I bought it but we finally used it!  Soya was small and quiet but really cute inside.  The sushi was great and so was the service.  Parking in a parking garage was a bit inconvenient but that's Ocean Front for you.

After we ate we walked around the shops nearby.  The first one we went in was Seaside Flags & Gifts.  They had some really cute garden flags!  The flip flops ones were my favorite!

The next shop we went into was Flip Flop Shops.  Their flip flops were pretty expensive but they had some SUPER cute stuff in there!  I also loved the giant flip flop leaning on the counter....I kinda want one for the house!

Further down the strip was a candy shop.  We didn't go in but it sure did look good!  Forbe's Candy

On the corner was a place called Vacation Market.  They had a list of local attractions and discount tickets.  It looked like most discounts were only $1 but it still looked like a fun informative place!  Some of the attractions I saw were dolphin tours and the Virginia Beach Aquarium.

Across the street was a seafood restaurant that we've been wanting to try, Catch 31.

Then was the end of Day 1!  TJ has Tuesday off so I think we're planning some fun stuff!
