CROCK POT SALISBURY STEAK

2 pounds lean ground beef (lean is important or else your steaks will be floating in grease)
1 envelope dry onion soup mix
1/2 cup bread crumbs (I use planko)
1/4 cup milk
1/4 cup flour
2 tablespoons veg oil or olive oil
2 cans cream of chicken soup
1 packet dry au jus mix
3/4 cup water

In a large bowl mix together ground beef, onion soup mix, bread crumbs and milk, using your hands.  Form into 8 patties.
Heat oil in a pan over medium-high heat.  Dredge patties in flour and lightly brown on both sides in the hot skillet.
Place patties in crockpot, stacking is ok.
In a bowl mix together soup, au jus mix and water.  Pour over meat and cook on low for 4-5 hours.

Stovetop version:
Lay patties out in a large skillet and pour as jus mix over them.  Cover and simmer for 20 minutes.
