materials:
worsted weight yarn (red heart super saver)
F/5 - 3.75mm crochet hook
stitches:
ch - chain
dc - double crochet
sl st - slip stitch
make a slip knot and ch 4, sl st to join
rnd 1: ch 3, in center of ring 2 dc *ch 2, 3 dc* repeat 2 more times, ch 2, sl st into first ch 3
(4 ch 3 clusters & 4 ch 2 spaces)
rnd 2: sl st to corner, in corner space ch 3, 2dc, ch 2, 3dc, *ch 1, (3dc, ch 2, 3dc in corner)* repeat around, ch 1 and sl st into first ch 3
(2 ch 3 clusters in each corner & 4 ch 1 spaces in-between)
rnd 3: sl st to corner, in corner space ch 3, 2dc, ch 2, 3dc, *ch 1, 3dc in ch 1 space, ch 1, (3dc, ch 2, 3dc in corner)* repeat around, ch 1, sl st in first ch 3
(2 ch 3 clusters in each corner, 2 ch 1 spaces in-between & 1 ch 3 cluster between the ch 1 spaces)
rnd 4: st st to corner, in corner space ch 3, 2dc, ch 2, 3dc, *ch 1, 3dc in ch 1 space - 2 times, ch 1, (3dc, ch 2, 3dc in corner)* repeat around, ch 1, sl st in first ch 3
(2 ch 3 clusters in each corner, 3 ch 1 spaces in-between & 2 ch 3 clusters between the ch 1 spaces)
🧶after 4 rounds this is a perfect coaster size
🧶from this point forward you continue the pattern on, you will always have a 3dc, ch 2, 3dc cluster and each corner followed by an increasing series of ch 1, 3dc, ch 1 between the corners
🧶change colors by fastening off after a round and adding the new color to any corner
