We started off our morning in Kauai at McDonald's because we wanted to try their spam and eggs. We think it's fun to see what different menu items McDonald's will have in different areas.
After breakfast we wondered over to the Red Hibiscus gift shop. This shop was FULL of amazing souvenirs and priced very well. I highly recommend this shop if you're looking for goodies to bring back. The owner was so friendly and sweet and she even gave me a bracelet!
We headed to Poipu Beach for surfing lessons and as soon as we got there 4 monk seals and a sea turtle swam up to the shore. The seals got out to sunbathe right in front of us!!!
We did our surfing lessons with Keola, the owner of Poipu Kauai Surf Academy. Keola was very patient and kind. We had a great afternoon but realized we're a bit old and out of shape for surfing LOL. It was so tiring! The water at Poipu Beach was crystal clear and gorgeous, definitely a great place to snorkel!
After surfing we hung out at the Sheraton Kauai Resort, this place was absolutely gorgeous! The landscaping and ponds with an open lobby - breathtaking. I would love to come back here someday. They even did daily activities like lei making, ukulele lessons, snorkeling and scuba diving. We ate at one of their restaurants Lava's on the beach, listened to live music and enjoyed delicious food and drinks.
Additional things to do: snorkeling, beaches, water falls, canyons
