Welcome to Crawfordsville, Indiana
I went to visit my friend who lives in Crawfordsville but she's from Berne and we spent a lot of time in Indianapolis. There was lots to do and sights I've never experienced before!
The first place we ate at was Harry's Hideout which had really good food. Everything I tried was delicious! Unfortunately they are no longer open. I also went to The Joshua Cup and ordered my first Red Eye Chai and it was great!
After dinner we had a sweet treat at Dari-Licious
We went to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and walked around the gift shop.
We spent the day at The Children's Museum of Indianapolis. This place was HUGE with tons to do and look at! Some of the exhibits were really fun, nostalgic and powerful. I recommend this museum even if you do not have children in tow. While at the museum I had the honor of meeting Jeanne White Ginder, Ryan White's mother. Ryan White was one of the first children to be diagnosed with AIDS in the United States back in 1984. She told their story and it was absolutely heartbreaking although because of Ryan there have been so many breakthroughs and foundations to help understand the virus, educate and programs that offer treatment.
We spent another day hiking Rocky Hollow Falls Canyon in Turkey Run State Park. This place was absolutely gorgeous! This was a bit of a challenge for me since it had some steep area and wet slippery rocks with rushing water in some spots but it was gorgeous nonetheless.
We had an amazing meal at St. Elmo Steak House. The food was amazing but so is their cocktail sauce! I can't even eat shrimp and I am in love with their cocktail sauce! You can purchase their cocktail sauce from their website HERE and if you or anyone you know is a cocktail sauce fan I HIGHLY recommend getting this, it's a great gift too!
I also got to drive by the Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Indianapolis Colts.
There's ton to do around Indianapolis and it's a beautiful state. Next time I'd like to come back in October so I can go to Fear Farm and Exploration Acres.
