SERRANO INFUSED MAPLE SYRUP

 

bottle of real maple syrup or not... (see note below)
1 serrano pepper or habanero

Dump contents of syrup into a wider mouth jar.  
Cut pepper in half and put in syrup.
Allow pepper to infuse for a day or two and once syrup is to your liking remove and discard peppers.
Funnel the syrup back into it's original container and store in the fridge.
After making this using real maple syrup, I discovered I do not care for real syrup.  Give me the thick buttery goodness of Mrs. Butterworth all day...
